Hurricane Arthur is fast approaching the NC coast. Sustained winds are at 80 mph. An eastern turn is expected but has not happened yet. The center of the Hurricane is forecast to pass between Morehead City and Cape Hatteras early Friday about 2:00 am. Hurricane Arthur is a fast moving storm which is good news, but the rain, wind and rip currents associated with the hurricane can cause a lot of damage to the North Carolina barrier islands, inlets and roads.
