The beautiful mountain setting of Asheville is being used this week for movie filming in Asheville NC. Owen Wilson and Kristen Wiig are in Western North Carolina this summer to film a movie about a multimillion-dollar heist. The film is based on the true story of the Charlotte $17 million robbery of the Loomis Fargo & Co. regional vault that took place in 1997. Recent filming has been taking place in nearby Swannanoa, Waynesville and other locations near Asheville. This week’s filming will mean some streets in downtown Asheville will be closed as driving scenes will be filmed. The movie has not been named yet but watch for the release next year in August 2015.
